FAQ at Right Path Pain & Spine Centers

What is pain management?

Pain management is a medical specialty that deals with all aspects of pain, from acute to chronic. It’s a complicated specialty due to the many potential causes, and it requires a variety of treatment capabilities to adequately resolve each type of pain. It is important that your pain physician has experience with all types of pain management techniques to ensure you’re receiving the correct treatment for your condition.

What is your policy for pain medication?

We view pain medication as a last resort treatment. While pain medication is helpful and necessary in some cases, addressing the source of your pain through nonsurgical, minimally invasive or regenerative therapies typically leads to far better long-term outcomes.

What is regenerative medicine?

Regenerative medicine is a general term for our stem cell and platelet-rich plasma therapies. These therapies represent the latest in pain relief technology. By harnessing the bodies own healing mechanisms, we can replace lost tissues and expedite the healing process to get you out of pain. Visit this page for more information.

Do you treat children?

We’re happy to see all children age 14 and older.

Do I need a referral?

Patients with HMO plans will need a referral from their primary care doctor. PPO and Medicare patients can schedule an appointment with us directly. Also, if you’re interested in our regenerative medicine procedures, you do not need a referral.

Where do you perform your procedures?

We perform most of our procedures right here in the comfort of our office. This reduces your costs by helping you avoid extra fees charged by surgery centers. However, we must perform certain advanced procedures — such as minimally invasive spinal fusion — at a hospital or surgery center. We have rights with a number of medical institutions in the Davenport and Orlando area. Please contact our office for more information.
